Jon Miller is co-founder and Chairman of AWA. He is CEO of Integrated Media Co (IMC) and Senior Advisor to Advancit Capital. IMC owns Fandom.com amongst other media properties. Jon was Chairman and CEO of the Digital Media Group of News Corp and Fox where he also served on the Board of Hulu. Previously, Jon was Chairman and CEO of AOL, inc, President and CEO of USA Interactive (now IAC), President of Nickelodeon International and General Manager of NBA Entertainment. He sits on the Boards of Interpublic Group, Ziff Davis and Nielsen, inc. as well as the Paley Center for Media and the American Film Institute.

Matthew has helped lead a range of media and technology companies through industry transition, innovation and growth. Known for business his creativity and ability to forge industry-changing partnerships, Forbes and Business Insider recognized Matthew as one of the world’s most innovative marketers during his tenure as Roku’s CMO. His leadership around climate, corporate affairs, marketing and brand strategy resulted Sky being named Britain’s “Most Admired” business multiple times by Management Today. As CEO of Ogilvy’s strategic communications network in Asia, he pioneered ways of fostering culture and systems where creativity thrives. He’s a lifelong reader of graphic fiction who is passionate about supporting unique ideas and building franchises.

Axel Alonso

Chief Creative Officer

Axel Alonso is a comic book creator and renowned comic book industry executive. He is Chief Creative Officer of AWA which he co-founded with Bill Jemas. Axel is well known for his tenure as Marvel’s Editor-In-Chief from 2011 to 2018 where he oversaw all story development, and a number of important milestones in adding diversity to the industry including the introduction of Miles Morales as the first half-black, half–Puerto Rican Spider-Man, the makeover of Jane Foster into the new female Thor and the installation of Carol Danvers as the new female Captain Marvel. Previously, Axel was an Executive Editor at Marvel from 2001-2011, Senior Editor at DC Comics and Vertigo. He is a graduate of Columbia University with a master's degree in journalism. The New York Times said: “The fate of the Marvel Universe rests on Axel Alonso’s shoulders….”

Financial Controller

Ariane Baya leads the financial strategy at AWA. Previously, she was the Financial Manager at Four Brown Girls. She is originally from Toulouse, France and went to school at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.

SVP, General Counsel

Bob Cohen is SVP of General Counsel at AWA. Bob served as EVP, Legal Affairs for 20th Century Fox for 25 years through early 2020. He had also been EVP for Fox Stage Productions, overseeing more than a dozen shows in development and production.

Executive Editor

Mike Cotton is the Executive Editor at AWA. Former editor of Wizard Magazine, Mike was also the publisher of Champion! a comics magazine app. He was hired by DC Comics as an editor, including looking after their inhouse Previews magazine, Direct Current. He was made a Senior Editor at DC Comics in 2017 and became Superman Group Editor.

Zach Studin is President of AWA Studios and oversees entertainment industry partnerships for AWA. He previously fostered deep industry relationships during his time as an executive at John Wells Productions, Lava Bear Films, Lionsgate and his own Veri Media. He received his Bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University.
